The National Archives has a photo with the following caption: “A platoon of Negro troops surround a house as they prepare to eliminate a German sniper…near Vierville Sur-Mer,” The photo is dated 10 June 1944.
I am unable to find any information about what unit this was, other than the 320th Barrage Balloon Battalion. Can someone add information?
