Hi Simon
My Son Joseph previously came across this site and you sound asif you maybe able to give us some insite to my Grandfather George edward Tomalin. he also was in the Merchant Navy and Jumped Ship Here in Port Augusta South Australia. My Father told me before he passed away that Granddad was born and bred in England we think Kent as he sang in the Cantabery Chior at somestage Also his handwriting and manners where impecable. His arrival would have been early in the 1900's And my Fathers birth was in 1920
I hope you can maybe shed a bit more light on the subject.
My Regards
Joseph B Tomalin--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- Replying to: Hey John,
I stumbled across this blog (I think its a blog) via google. I live in Australia having migrated from London in 1990. My grandfather was Sidney Ernest Tomalin, he had a half brother who was a Catholic priest (Raymond Tomalin, died 1998). Sidney was born (dont have exact date with me right now) 1910 and was a captain in the merchant navy. He died in 1958????
My sister (Nyree Bampton nee Tomalin) is also listed on thsi blogg, she also lives in Sydney Australia.
I have been in contact with some other TOMALIN's via genesreunited.co.uk.
If you want to email me, please do so at sctomalin@hotmail.com i have exact dates and other information that may be of use to you, but I am sure that I am related to other Tomalin's out there.
Cheers
Simon |
