Georgia Southern is in decline
I was recently re-banned from the tscsports.com for saying so, but that is the fact. The deadly combination of Sam Baker at A.D. and Mike Sewak as head coach is slowly killing the once proud Eagle program. GSU's leadership has embraced stagnation and mediocrity. We have no long term plan for the future of the program, the stadium hasn't been expanded since it was built 25 years ago, and our on-field product reaks of undisciplined stupid penalties and lack of focus and execution. In addition the above mentioned gentlemen have actually run-off our ledgendary former head coach and program architect, Erk Russell. He won't even come to games anymore, because of a situation where Sewak fired D-coordinator Rusty Russell(son), and then lied about it to the media! Heads need to roll! |

Good info. Maybe the glory days of GSU are over. Sometimes folks don't work as hard when they are on top. It is harder to stay at the top than to actually get there. |

I agree that Georgia Southern is in decline. However, once a tradition is established such as it has been here--it will always come back. Let's hope for the sake of the fans--soon! |
