Once again the management of the MDUSD is reflected in their attempt to put on a "good show" for the upcoming WASC review at Northgate High. If you drive by the school you will notice that the weeds and dead plants are gone from the street side of the school. What an improvement after years of complete neglect. But wait! The WASC team is coming in the next few weeks to review the school. Our 18 year old son noticed the improvement but then pointed out that the review team was coming and that is the only reason the work was done. I reflected back on the last review period and remember the same thing happening. The maintenance department in the district has always been inefficient and is reflected in the appearance of our schools. Of course it has been run by the same people for years. I have even spoken to some of the maintenance employees and they say it is a joke. Once again this isn't about lack of money it is about lack of management.
