I have personally know 3 different teachers who attended budget meetings / board meeting and spoke up against what they perceive as major problems within the district. The next day, the teachers were called in to the principle office. They were told not to publicly speak out against the district because it makes the principle "look bad". They were warned to make waves. There is an undercurrent of do what I say or else! I wonder how many teachers have had to deal with this problem. |
