Message:		I had a total knee replacement in Feb 2002...was doing very well with it....fell on that knee and messed up the replacement as well as a nasty fracture to femur in July2006, got infection 30 days later, on vancomycin via PICC line for 3 months, had knee replacement removed in Dec of 2006, still on vancomycin via PICC line, knee biopsy in April 2007, started on Xyvox (THE most expensive pill I have EVER TAKEN!! It costs $60 a pill and I take 2 a day, that's $3600 a month!!!. After biopsy, I was told have to have fusion, that infection is too deep in bone/blood, I also have osteoporosis! There is nothing left to do to my leg other than amputate it, and I really, really don't wanna go that direction. Anyone else been on this never ending train trip?
