Re: Re: I'm a McGovern

Dear John McGovern,

My name is Leslie McGovern, I presently live in WA state, but grew up and spent most of my life in the San Francisco Bay Area.

My father, William David McGovern, Jr., died just before the holidays. It is a great loss to us, especially that he died so alone.

I am trying very hard to locate my cousin, with whom I was last in contact a few years ago when she lived in Miami, Florida. Her name is Susan Weinstock, her mother's name was Eleanor McGovern, father's David Weinstock.

My father's family were primarily from New York city. A well-known, maybe famous, boxer by the name of Terry McGovern (I think that's right) was often talked about by my family.

My father always told me that all McGovern's were pretty much related, however distantly, so I am hoping to somehow locate and tell Susie, if at all possible, through the McGovern network.

Any thoughts or words you may wish in my father's passing, I am certain he would be honored and moved by ...

Thank you so much for your time, and hope your new year is a good one,

Sincerely,

Leslie Anne McGovern

Just wanted to touch base with some of the McGoverns. My mother was Mary Patricia McGovern from Reading, PA, born in 1922. Her father and mother (born approx. 1900) were James Francis McGovern & Lucy O'Boyle McGovern. Would like to do some research to find my roots in Ireland. Any info would be appreciated.
