Guenever's Lament:
Aye, I love my King, hero of our isles.
Yet, when I am woman, not the Queen
He cannot follow, for the Crown remains.
Excalibur between us, as is the throne.
In the chill of a winter's evening
Lancelot did warm my freezing soul.
Nay! I will not break my oath to Arthur,
Nor bring shame upon Camelot this way.
I would not wait alone in my chambers.
Would that Arthur and Lancelot were one man.
Or I had my heart again to give wholly.
Guenever still weeps alone for the morrow.
