I’m losing my long-established home and a part of my property to the New Fraser Crossing, and while I’ve made peace with my losses, I have some serious concerns about who I’m dealing with. The TransLink logo appears on everything, but when I get a call back from the information desk another company name appears on the call display. In a recent late evening meeting our City’s chief engineer referred to the “proprietor” dealing directly with property owners. When I questioned the Minister, she replied emphatically that no decision had yet been made about financing. This was follow by an equally emphatic response from the project information line stating that the NFC was in no way dependent upon government funds (and therefore would not be cancelled if our Olympic bid failed.) From the point of view of fair compensation does it make any difference?
