Right of way on private property

Can someone help a neighbour of mine. She has a Lake front property in Ontario, and the house that she has to pass has been sold recently(they are not lakefront, but have a right of way to the lake) Their lawyer phoned her and told her that she would have to remove an Arbor that is in her garden, also to remove some trees that are growing in her garden (these trees are mature, about 8 year old.)Do these people have the right to approach her when they have not even moved into the house, and pass the law down to her. Please someone let us know what she can do to stop this conflict.

Re: Right of way on private property

If there is an easement agreement registered against the title, you should check that to consider the terms and conditions thereof.
