metro 2 suffered it's first loss this season with a 2-1 loss away. Mt Gravatt started strongly and shold have gone ahead when an indirect free kick was given on the 6 yard box, but were not able to take the opportunity. the game really was a struggle with no team dominating but about 20 mins in jimboomba scored from a cross that caught the defence a little flat footed, and also screaming for an offside that was never given, this served as a wake up call and after some continued pressure the equaliser came when Jordi crossed from a free kick to find Luke ffrance to head past the advancing keeper.
The game continued to ebb and flow and was always going to be tugh for either team to find the winner however Jimboomba were awarded a penalty with about 20 mins to go with jono deemed to have held the striker as the last man of defence (strange that no card was given though). 2-1 was how it finished, Mounties hit the post with about 10 to go but could not find a way to equalise.
Always a hard place to visit and a draw would have been the fairest result (spoke to their coach and captain from last year after the game and even they said that a draw should have been the result) but we know that it does not always work that way and we now just have to get on with the next game, another hard one against leaders PCYC.
