The Hawks trounced nearest rivals Acacia Ridge on Friday, opening up a five point gap at the top of the Metro 4 division in the process.
The Hawks started the game at a good tempo and looked fluent. Indeed, they had two good chances in the opening minute to open their account - Russ and Mohanned upfront caused all sorts of problems with their strength and movement off the ball.
On the quarter hour the deadlock was broken when Jack cut in from the left and shot right footed. The ball squirmed under the keeper and crept over the line.
Hawks continued to dominate, with chance after chance coming and going. Hawks became a little untidy towards the end of the half and when possession was turned over coming out of defence, they suffered a sucker punch on the stroke of half time, when Acacia's only shot on goal crept into bottom left of Husseins goal.
Hawks went in at half time feeling disappointed at the scoreline - but confident that if the tempo was good, the goals would come.
Fifteen minutes into the second half, Mark bounded forward and got on the end of a Jeff Little pass - his first touch taking him past the keeper - his second touch slotting the ball in the ball of the net.
Hawks held firm against some late Acacia pressure, before pinching two late goals from Harry and full back Jeff (via the Acacia defender).
A very confident display from the boys but they'll need to make sure over confidence does not become an issue when they face Beenleigh on Friday.
