If you want to discuss shots, there is a really cool tool called a "Cue Table." It allows you to position balls on a table in order to set up shots. It requires a Macromedia Shockwave plug-in.

New MVA League in S. St. Paul

Hello Pool Players

This winter is bringing Mendota Valley Leagues into the South St. Paul, West St. Paul and St. Paul Park area. We are committed to this area as we now call it home (we moved our office this summer to S. St. Paul). The league will be ACS / VNEA sanctioned allowing teams and players to get discounts at the Treasure Island Events as well as getting them eligible for the Largest State Tournament MOMA! Players will also be invited to several major events from Northern Lights to Canterbury Park.

The format is Round Robin using official Valley ball in hand rules. Some Locations looking for teams are South St. Paul VFW, Croatian Hall, Dunham’s, The Boulevard, Celts, Jerseys, Park Place, Clover leaf, Franke’s, etc...

The league pays back 100% of weekly fees. Weekly fees are a simple $5 per player. No team deposit required! Sanctioning for ACS is $10 (ACS only needs to be paid for players that are not yet sanctioned). Treasure Island will be hosting TWO major tournaments and players that are ACS sanctioned will receive a $5 discount PER event they play. The first event at Treasure Island is December 17-20, so the new league will shoot for a start date of December 3rd allowing players to get the 1 night of play needed to be eligible.

VNEA sanctioning is $8 prior to December 15th. MOMA will be February 4 - 7 and the VNEA International Championships will be held in Vegas at the end of May. Both MOMA and the VNEA are celebrating their 30th year and have special incentives at this year’s events for players attending.

Mendota Valley has a large End of Year Event for their league teams and players at Canterbury Park April 22nd - 25th. Teams will receive their prize money for the regular season at Canterbury while competing for additional cash and prizes!!! Mendota Valley Leagues have been around for over two decades - with new enthusiasm injected into the league program as ownership is dedicated to make it the premier league in the Twin Cities area. This winter will see expansions into several more communities - come and join the fun!

3 teams are currently committed to start this December on Thursday evenings. We are looking for both teams and individuals that are interested in playing. Please contact me and let me know if you would like to join.

PS: Please spread this e-mail to pool playing friends and acquaintances that may have interest. The goal would be to start with 8 teams.

PSS: I am considering a tournament to be held at Dunham’s in West St. Paul the day after Thanksgiving. If you would be interested in this event let me know.
