Re: LCDR WARD

Hi James,

I don't find a person with that name in the squadron roster. As you don't say why you are asking I can only assume either this person was never connected to the squadron or asked to be transferred after learning the danger of the mission. Several Officer and enlisted were granted permission to transfer and no record was kept as they were dispatched early prior to commissioning of VO-67. Perhaps LCDR.Ward was part of initial program run-up in 1966. I think it was called PRACTICE NINE and as I understand members of that group were asked if they wanted to volunteer to take a step forward. They all took a step backward as they understood the 75% predicted loss rate of the aircraft and crews.
