I was flying a proficiency T-28 flight out of North Island and was asked if I would deliver a part to a civilian airfield in Arizona (Douglas -Bigbee I believe). I landed, taxied to the end of the airfield as the tower directed, was met by an armed guard. I wanted to shut down for a few minutes to make a head call, but wasn't allowed to shut down. There were P-2s parked on the ramp there. I've never read or heard anything about that activity but suspect it is connected with this squadron.
