The very sad death of the renowned Seamus Heaney last week brought my mind back to my schooldays in St.Thomas's Secondary School on the Whiterock Road in the early 1960s where Seamus began his teaching.
No less a man than Michael Mclaverty was the headmaster at that time so we were greatly privileged at that time.
I personally didn't know the man Joe, but any friend of yours is a friend of mine.
