Welcome to the CDR forum. Feel free to post questions & comments about our club and web site ( what do you like – don’t like - what would you change - how would you change it - what you would keep the same).
Well the weekend came and went fast. As most know, the Casper Dirt Riders sponsored a two day school with Donnie Hansen. During the week before, Robert Grant and myself worked hastilly on the club's disc, and tractor to have it to use for track prep. I used it until we found a weak point. Tom at Equipment Rentals then stepped up and donated a loader so we could finish prepping the track. THANK YOU TOM...YOU WERE A REAL LIFE SAVER!!!! Tony Zettlemoyer then stepped in and helped out all day Friday. When it was all said and done, Donnie complimented us on the track. Coming from Donnie Hansen, someone that has seen hundreds of tracks, this made me proud. We had 16 or 17 kids, and Tony, participate in the school. The kids all seemed to be serious about learning from Donnie. The information came quick, but the kids all seemed to improve as time went by. I had the privillege of entertaining Donnie when we weren't at the track. This came to me as quite an honor. Donnie is a way cool dude. He is down to earth. He did offer up some ideas to Tony about what he thought some good changes would be to our track. They were easy changes that won't require a lot if we decide to make those changes. As the kids were out on the track practicing the skills, all the parents pitched in and acted as flaggers, watterers, and helped with other duties as well. I'd like to personally thank all that helped. Your help really eased the load on Robert and myself. And finally...THANKS TO ALL INVOLVED WITH THIS EVENT. IT WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN THE SUCCESS IT WAS WITHOUT YOUR HELP!!! P.S. Donnei said he would be glad to come back next year...I'm in...Are you?
