Does anyone remember the barber shop in Ardwich Green Known as \" ARTIES, HAIRDRESSER TO THE STARS \" It was hugely popular to the lads in the 1950\'s and 1960\'s particularly on Saturdays. No more short back and sides, we would great, razor-cut hairstyles, swept back at the sides a la Tony Curtis. I have searched and searched but can find nothing about Arties. Please get in touch if you remember those time, Thanks, Philip. |

Wondering if anyone I might have known up to Jan. 1947, when I left dear old England to come to Canada to be married, will remember me. I rather doubt it, but I noticed Alf Proctor\'s message and have emailed him. We\'re both pretty old now!! |

I wonder if anyone remembers Gaythorn Primary School, near the old Gas Works before the Bridge that went over the City Road Inn? I also went to Tatton Street brownies. I used to play with my friends on the old \"crofts\" and my grandma lived at 52 Crown Street, long gone now. I was born on Stone Street, in Castlefield and went to St Matthews Sunday School in Castlefield, Manchester. I think I went to St. Michael\'s church, tho can find no record of the church which has old bible study murals painted on the walls. Sure it would be a listed building now. |
