DAVID GARDINER'S GUEST BOOK

This is my new guest book. If you want to read or sign the old one you can't because it has permanently disappeared and Xoom.com won't answer my e-mails about it. So this is now it, guest-book wise. Feel free to be critical here - but I do have people killed. HTML can be accepted but your credit card will be debited a further 2%.

Tell me a little about yourself

I am a Sociology student with a question, who\'s Outlook function seems to be not working, which is the reason I take the liberty of using this guestbook to send you my message.

What did you think of the site generally?

Dear mr Gardiner,

I think the site is beautiful. Yellow, to me, makes life more enjoyable. I am looking forward to reading your stories.

In the preview of this message, I saw that all sentences will follow on one another, which makes this a quite long and perhaps reader-unfriendly amount of text. My apologies for that!

Now, with regard to my question.

As part of the master course Cultural Sociology, which I am doing at the University of Amsterdam, I will conduct a study on the decision-making processes that editors of London-based literary magazines are facing when determining the content of their magazine. Consequently, I will be holding interviews with various editors.

I hereby would like to ask you if you, as the editor of Gold Dust Magazine, would be so kind as to be interviewed by me. I believe your magazine to be an interesting and suitable case for my research.

In April and May 2013, I will be staying in London. Therefore, I would prefer to conduct the interview in April, though May would be an option as well. The interview will take approximately one hour. Naturally, I am willing to come to whatever place you would prefer, though for research purposes, the place where you (mostly) produce the magazine would be most useful. The information you give will be treated with the utmost discretion, and if you wish, your contribution will be treated anonymously.

I cannot attach any documents to this message, but through e-mail, Icab provide you with credentials from my thesis supervisor, Mr. Van den Haak, and from the coordinator of the master track Cultural Sociology, Mr. Van Venrooij.

If you would like to know a little bit more about me, you can follow this link to my LinkedIn profile:

Your cooperation would be of the greatest value to my research.

I am looking forward to hearing from you!

Yours sincerely,

Marjolein Voortman

What did you think of the stories you read?

I haven't read SIRAT as the subject matter isn't my thing, but I know you're a good writer, having read you often at UKA, so I'm sure it's great, and with that... I've just recommended it to someone I know who likes sci-fi and who does research into intelligent systems. Thought this might be his bag!

Congrats on the 2nd novel due out. Think I'll put that on my Christmas wish list - wouldn't mind it being a signed copy.

What did you think of the site generally?

I like the new look!

What did you think of the site generally?

I have a question. Jeff Bridges, Timothy Bottoms and Cybill Sheppard sang the Anarene school song in an early scene.(as a matter of fact- it's the scene on your home page- riding in the convertible) The school song is also sung again in a scene at an Anarene football game. What college's school song is the tune taken from? It is the same as my high school- Lubbock High. Thanks.
