Hi greetings to all MW-players!
There´s one thing I wanted to know:
In June ´05 a greek guy with my name entered this ranking, never seen before and never heard after this time.
Who was that? My name is a result of a special agreement when my parents came to Germany in 1971. The ending was changed, so this name shouldn´t exist too often.
As I am an ambitioned solitaire/spider solitaire-player, it would be rather nice to know if there are two greek people with the same name that are seeking for good scores at MS-games.
So, Mario, if you read this please contact me!
Bye

Hello,
I sent my scores in well before the Period 12 deadline (about a day and a half before), but it shows that I have not reported scores for two consecutive weeks. I sent an email about this a couple of days ago but have heard no replies. I don't mean to be a bother, but I would like to remain on the Active Ranking List. Please help me out...

Last month I had a very interesting discussion with Stephan Bechtel. He motivated me to try to make one of my ideas come true: a minesweeper tournament.
I'm here in Vienna/Austria (that's in the east of the european union). We could use the PC-rooms of the department for math at the university of vienna. I've reserved the rooms for Sunday 16th Mai, but also Mai 8/9/15/23 would be possible.
Please send me e-mails as soon as possilbe:
- if you would participate at the tournament,
- which date you would prefer and which would be possible for you,
- which mouse you'd use (of course you can bring your own mouse and mousepad with you) and
which port it has and if it requirs any drivers.

Next week I will post if and when the tournament will take place (what - of course - depends of your reactions).

I think, that vienna is a good place for a tournament, because it's not so far form all european countrys and there are lots of players in the AR from there.

regards
Christoph Marx

@Christoph: Sorry, I only meant where I currently belong with my current scores. I had been doing much better in the rankings with similar scores, but since everyone else also did so well this time, I fell in a more reasonable rank for the scores I turned in. To be optimistic, I certainly hope my average keeps improving, and when it does, I hope to see you there as well.

Looks like everyone had a really good period. Last period I had 83 and rank 13, this period I reached rank 19 with 82.
So we all together played very well.
What do you think: Would a statistic how good the community played in the different periods be of interest?
I'm thinking of some nice diagramms.
The sum of the best 10 sums, the average per player, the number of sub 80 sums,...

@Katy: Don't say such silly things like 'I belong so far back in the rankings'! Improve your scoreline and soon we'll meet in the top 10 (if I can improve my score). I just can't stand a phrase like 'I belong...' if it's not followed by something optimistic.

I find it amusing that Georgi and I tied this period. By the way, good job everyone and welcome back to the others. I was starting to feel full of myself, but you've put me back where I belong in the rankings.

I think there's an error in the statistics. Lance and me share the 14th position this period according to the ranking, but we are listed with a "rank of 13" in the statistics section. By the way, I think that it would be better to use the average of 14 and 15 in rank- and point statistics. Of course, it's up to you to decide what to do.

@Tim: I don't really understand your question. In period 3, Dan and Daniel will provide of Player of the Period profile. Daniel's is already up.

Thanks for the support. I think I made a little mistake in my last post. "Because of such statements" would probably be better. I guess I should focus more on details

Hi everybody!

I don't know if you have already heard about my version of Minesweeper. It's in the site http://www.geocities.com/minesweeperclone. It's full of options and has a built-in video recorder.

Sorry to the ones who already know ir for asking again to check my program out, but I would like to get the opinion of all of you, that play Minesweeper like pros.

I hope to read your comments.
Thanks a lot.
Rodrigo.

As I posted directly after my 52, I could submit a nice 14-52 which sums up to a nice 66

Thanks, Stephan. But I got a 16 on Friday and since my email worked again i was even able to submit it.
16-62 not great but at least sub80, I'm sure you got a sub70 sum.

@Elmar: I've sent your scores to the submission address, so you should be listed whether Lance reads the guestbook or not.

@Jon: I share your and Dennis' opinion. I always took the chance of cutting off one second of my "lousy" expert scores by at least submitting a 2 in beginner. But as Dennis said, for me as well it's very nice that I don't have to play that hour or two until I get a beg-2.
And in fact, many players have improved a lot. In the February 2003, my expert score of 55 #14 in the world, in the last bestever table, I was #28...
