Ancestor William Henry Graham, supposed to have left Ireland from the family home in Enniskillen, Fermanagh, Ulster. They went to New Brunswick, Canada and moved west to Petersborough, Ontario, Canada. My great grandfather, George Wilson Graham, moved to Harrison County, Michigan, USA. His son, my grandfather, moved farther west to Pasco, Washington where my father was born. I\'m having trouble finding the path back to Ireland, thence to Scotland, where I felt I was \"home\" when I visited in 1997. Would like to trace the family back to Scotland.

Born in Belfast in Brown Square. Left when I was 15 to become an apprentice jockey. Rode Master of the Lodge at Downpatrick in 1964 and won on him. Was introduced to Silver McKee after the race..I was boxing at the time with Jim Magee and Silver would come into the gym almost every night that I trained...I know a bit about Silver McKee..

I read your info about the Whiterock Housing Estate. I believe my ancestors - the Kirkwoods - farmed at Whiterock Farm in the 1800\'s, I assume where the housing estate was built. Would anyone have any information on the Kirkwoods? I\'m hitting a dead end before William (born about 1820) though I know from his marriage registration his father was James. Anything would be appreciated, Judy

Great site but I don\'t see any info on the stories of the Protestant communities in these areas. The communities who lived in these areas and were sadly pushed out by sectarian violence etc. Any chance you could cover these communities?

Just read your page on Ballylinny near Ballyclare . As a kid my friends and I used to go to the waterfall there on a warm summer day to cool off and have a bit of fun.

Hello Joe,
I found your very informative site as I have been trying to learn more about Arthur Hamill, JP, and his family. Family legend tells that my 2x great grandmother Mary Kearney was a descendant or relative of Arthur Hamill, and I am trying to prove or disprove this. My grandmother was born in Belfast. I would love to hear from you if possible.
Cheers, and great job on the site!
Diane

The Rushlight site is fascinating. It is so rich in telling the history of Belfast which I lived in for four years while attending the College of Art. I spent a lot of time sketching the buildings and interesting places like Smithfield. I only wish I'd known the history of all those places then.
I am searching for a photograph of the old Jennymount Mill for my story on Galloper Thompson.
