Cool website! Very interesting. Maybe there\'s a many-times-removed familial connection? Who knows, only time. |

Hello there. Would you be able to provide a list of the names of the (16?) IRA volunteers who took over the Broadway Cinema on 24 April 1943? Or at the least, point me in the right direction for more research. ‘24 April 1943– The IRA, including Hugh McAteer, took over the Falls Road Broadway cinema in Belfast, and whilst holding its staff at gunpoint, forced the cinemas audience to take part in a commemoration of the Easter Rising. A Proclamation of the 1916 Easter Rising was read out to the audience along with the IRA Army Council\'s annual statement, which included a denouncement of the American military presence in Northern Ireland as an \"..invasion of our rights...\" and warned that US troops could expect to be targeted in any \"..resumption of hostilities between the Irish Republic [as invested in the IRA] and Great Britain.\" |

All the talk of ethnic cleansing and the disgust of people being burned and murdered in Churches centuries ago. Yet no mention that Irish Republicans did this to Protestants in the 1970s and 1980s. Darkley and Tullyvallen. |

I just found this information today, 08 March 2022. I would like to know who I may contact regarding ancestors buried at Carmavy Cemetery. My 3x great grandparents, Robert Crawford and Jane Gray Crawford, are buried there. There is a picture of the headstone but is not clear enough to read all the names listed. Who might I be able to reach out to for assistance with this? Thank you. |

I loved reading your family story. I have an ancestor Elizabeth Graham born about 1840 in Ireland. That is all the information I have for her until 1871 census of Kings County, New Brunswick, Canada. She married Esau Mullett from England and they had 10 children. I just wish I could find records for her. |

My maternal grandfather was Robert James Maguire of Milton Street Belfast my maternal grandmother was Sarah Wilhelmina Doherty whose sister resided at 14 Weir St Belfast (and possibly my grandmother had lived there also) My grandparents were married in Belfast, left to go to Canada and then arrived in Lowell, MA I visited Belfast in 2017 and in inquiring about Milton Street and Weir Street I was told that the area of Belfast in which those had been, had been reconstructed and were no longer there. Does anyone know the name of the current area where those streets had been? I plan on revisiting Belfast as soon as possible and would love to go to those areas. Thank you! Most sincerely, Dorothea |

My maternal grandmother\'s maiden name was Sarah Wilhellmina Doherty at least 1 of her sisters in the 1950\'s lived at 14 Weir Street Belfast, because I remember helping my \"gramma\" mail packages to that address. I understand that the area where Weir St was located has been totally revamped this I was told in 2017 when I visited Belfast Does anyone know where Weir street was and what is the current new area or street area names? I will be returning to Belfast as soon as possible and I would like to visit the area Thank you! |

I loved your history of the Grahams in Northern Ireland. My gg grandfather (Patrick Graham) was married at St. Joseph’s parish in Glen Navy. He was an inn keeper there but had to leave with his family due to conflicts with the Orange Men. I have wondered how and why a Graham could have been a staunch Catholic. Your history fills in some of the gap. I also wonder how I can research this Graham family... The general ancestry websites have little to offer on the Scots in Northern Ireland. Money wasted already! Any guidance would be appreciated! Thanks, Catherine S. |

Just found your website today! My mother was born in Belfast in 1924, and worked in the linen factory (before WWII). She was born at 30 Boundary Street, as was her mother before her. I would love to find photos of Boundary Street and other areas she frequented (prior to 1942). Thank you for your part in preserving the History of Belfast! |

Love revisiting your site Joe! My 4xgreat-grandmother was Jane (Jenny) Graham from Glenwhirry, who married William Beggs. She was born 1802, and died in January 1872. Of their known 9 children, most came to Australia, including my 3xgreat-grandparents James Beggs and Helena McAuley. Jenny Graham and William lived their entire lives around Ballygelly... her death certificate notes Glenwhirry, and she rests in Ballymena. Still searching for her birthplace and parents. Jennie |
